Baitfish asks you to lure 20 Petrified enemies at the same time, and it sends you to exactly one place: the opening of Chapter 13, As One. It looks intimidating on the trophy list — luring anything in this game usually means a creature chase — but in practice it is one of the quickest trophies on the list once you know the room.

The requirement, precisely

Attract 20 Petrified enemies simultaneously. They do not need to attack you or stay grouped for long — the game checks the moment you have twenty of them stirred and following your position.

The method: Surviving Corruption’s opening room

Chapter 13, As One, sub-chapter “Surviving corruption” starts with an objective to unlock the exit while moving past the Petrified — and that first room is packed with them:

  1. Enter the room and instead of sneaking wide, walk close to the Petrified clusters deliberately. Proximity wakes them, and woken Petrified shamble toward the sound of you.
  2. Keep moving along a loop through the room’s center rather than hugging one wall — each pass wakes another group, and they trail behind you in a growing line.
  3. Once the pack behind you numbers twenty or more, the trophy unlocks. You do not need to reach the exit with them; the check happens on the count.

The room holds well over twenty Petrified, so there is more than enough stock even if a few wake late. Community consensus calls it easy once attempted — the hard part is only knowing to abandon stealth for a moment, which is the opposite of what the chapter teaches you elsewhere.

Why attempts fail

The failure mode players report is failing the lure run to the room’s light before the creature catches you — but note that is a different, unrelated hazard in the same chapter (the monster pursuit segments between rooms). For Baitfish itself, the room’s Petrified cannot hurt you before the count registers, so the only real mistake is being too polite: creeping along walls and waking only three or four at a time.

If you somehow finish the room short of twenty, reload the checkpoint at the room’s start and take a louder lap.

FAQ

Do the Petrified have to touch me for Baitfish?

No. They only need to be lured — awake and moving toward you — twenty at once. Nothing has to land a hit.

Can I get Baitfish after the story?

Yes. Chapter 13 is fully replayable via Chapter Select, and the trophy checks the live count in the room, so a single replay is enough.

Is Baitfish bugged?

Player reports describe it as the hardest-feeling trophy rather than a broken one — the tension of the crowded room makes people bail early. If a genuine unlock failure occurs, the standard fix for this game’s combat trophies applies: toggle the difficulty setting and attempt the room again.
