Overboard Trophy in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy (20 Pit & Spike Kills)
Overboard counts 20 kills by kick into drops and spike traps. Best farm is Chapter 5's spike ruin past Battle grounds — with the one mistake that wastes your throws.
Overboard asks you to kill 20 enemies with the environment — kicking them off ledges or into the game’s spike traps — and it farms in one spot: the spike-studded ruins just past Chapter 5’s first big fight. There is exactly one way to waste progress here, and this guide exists to keep you from doing it.
The requirement, precisely
Kill 20 enemies by knocking them into drops or spike traps. The killing blow must be the environment: a kick into spikes, a kick off a platform edge, or similar. Everything else — sword kills, throws — does nothing for this counter.
The farm: Chapter 5’s spike ruins
The spot is Chapter 5, Desolation It Wrought, sub-chapter “Battle grounds”, immediately after the first engagement:
- Clear the first fight normally, then head up into the ruin area above it — the stretch dotted with floor spike traps.
- Fight enemies near the trap tiles and ledges. Get close and use the kick input (Triangle) to send them backward: into the spikes, or off the platform edges.
- Before you kill the last few enemies of the encounter, reload the checkpoint to reset the room. Your counter persists; the enemies respawn.
- Loop until twenty.
The ruin stretch holds multiple traps and ledges within a few meters of each other, so each reset cycle yields three to four kills in under a minute.
The one mistake: whipping archers off ledges
Here is the trap inside the trap: yanking an archer down from a height with your Grapnel line does not count toward Overboard. It looks exactly like the trophy’s kill type, and players burn dozens of pulls on it before checking the counter. Only the kick into a drop or spike trap registers. Grapnel pulls are still fine combat — just not for this trophy.
FAQ
Does the counter survive checkpoint reloads?
Yes — like the game’s other cumulative combat trophies (see No Holds Barred), your twenty-kill progress persists across resets, deaths, and sessions.
Do spike traps have to do the killing, or is the kick enough?
The kick into the hazard is the trophy: the environment lands the killing blow. A kicked enemy that survives and gets finished by your sword does not count.
Can Overboard be earned after the story?
Yes. The trophy has no scene dependency, and the Chapter 5 farm is fully replayable through Chapter Select.
