No Holds Barred asks you to stun 20 enemies with thrown objects, and it is one of the friendliest grinds in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy — the game’s counter keeps your progress across attempts, and the recommended farm resets its own ammo supply every thirty seconds.

The requirement, precisely

Stun — not kill — 20 enemies with thrown objects (bottles and similar pickups). The stun is what counts: a throw that kills or merely knocks an enemy down without the dazed state does not progress the counter.

The farm: Chapter 5’s first fight

The spot is Chapter 5, Desolation It Wrought, sub-chapter “Battle grounds”, the very first engagement:

  1. Enter the fight. Two throwable bottles sit on the ground in the area.
  2. Pick one up, throw it at the nearest enemy, and watch for the stun animation — that is one tick on the counter.
  3. Reload the checkpoint. The fight resets, the bottles respawn, and your trophy counter keeps its total.
  4. Repeat: two stuns per loop, ten loops, done. The whole grind takes minutes and requires no stealth and no clearing of the fight.

Because the counter is cumulative, you can also just play naturally and let the total build across chapters — but the checkpoint loop is the deliberate, fast route.

What counts and what does not

  • Counts: any enemy stunned by a thrown bottle or equivalent throwable.
  • Does not count: enemies killed by throws (this is not a kill trophy — which is also why it pairs neatly with Returning the Favor, where you want exactly one knife kill), enemies knocked into pits (that is Overboard), and melee stuns.

FAQ

Does progress carry between sessions and checkpoints?

Yes. The stun counter is account-persistent: reloads, checkpoint resets, and even finishing the chapter keep your accumulated total.

Can I farm No Holds Barred anywhere else?

Any fight with throwables works — the game scatters bottles through most later encounters — but Chapter 5’s opening fight is the community’s pick because the reset loop is the fastest: shortest fight, two guaranteed pickups, no stealth requirement.

Is No Holds Barred missable?

No. It is a cumulative combat trophy with no scene dependency, earnable at any point via Chapter Select or natural play.
